Watch the Ad ‘Impulsive’ Donald Trump Will See on Fox News Telling Him His Transgender Ban Is Discriminatory
Will Trump Get the Message?
It’s been seven months since President Donald Trump tweeted out of the blue he was enacting a total ban on all transgender military service members. Aside from members of the religious right and anti-LGBT hate groups like Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council, few Americans actually support Trump’s discriminatory ban.
On Friday, the Commander-in-Chief may just get the message.
A consortium of LGBT civil rights organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign, Lambda Legal, OutServe-SLDN, Gender Justice League, and the American Military Partner Association (AMPA) are joining to air an ad on Fox News that tells Trump his ban is discriminatory and dangerous.
Trump, who frequently spends his “executive time” every morning watching “Fox and Friends” is likely to see the ad. What he’ll think of it is anyone’s guess. And in today’s climate, many are likely wondering if he’ll tweet about it.
Here’s the ad:

It calls Trump an “impulsive president,” and features quotes from Republican Senators John McCain and Joni Ernst, Democrat Tammy Duckworth and Admiral Mike Mullen (ret.).
Courts have blocked Trump’s attempts to enact the ban, and even required the Pentagon to begin accepting new transgender troops as of January 1. The Trump administration, especially Jeff Sessions’ DOJ, has insisted on fighting for the ban.
The Navy Times reports the ad will run starting Friday on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.Â
HRC notes the ad “complements a full page print ad that ran in USA Today and more than 32 regional Gannett papers nationwide this week.
