‘Maybe One Day I’ll Proudly Look Up at a Portrait of You!’ Michelle Obama Says
Last week the nation was captivated by a toddler who was awestruck by the newly-displayed portrait of Michelle Obama. The Obamas had their official portraits painted and they were unveiled last month before being hung in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery
Today, the former First Lady met her admirer, two-year old Parker Curry – and had a “dance party” with her.
“Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself,” Michelle Obama tweeted, “and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you!”

“It was so touching and uplifting for me to see this beautiful child looking at a beautiful portrait of a powerful woman,” Hines, visiting DC with his mother, told BuzzFeed News. “I was so delighted to have been in the right place at the right time.”
“I think we were all just smiling, and her joy and her awe was infectious,” he added.
