WATCH: Kate McKinnon Shines as Jeff Sessions and Betsy DeVos on SNL

Tackles McCabe’s Firing, DeVos’ Disastrous ’60 Minutes’ Interview

Award-winning “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) cast member Kate McKinnon returned to the comedy show this weekend to tackle both Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

McKinnon helped open the show as Sessions, taking on Andrew McCabe’s firing this week in an interview with Alex Moffat’s Anderson Cooper. “Tonight, a White House making big moves,” Moffat began. “FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is out, fired late on Friday a day before he was able to receive his pension. Here to explain is the man who had to do the firing: Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”

“Hello!” McKinnon’s Sessions waved. “Look at me, I still got a job!”

“Sir, can you give us the exact reason McCabe was fired?” Moffat asked.

“Well, uh, Mr. McCabe was in clear violation because of his lack of candor. I don’t know, I can’t even dance around,” McKinnon responded. “Trump made me do it! McCabe, he saw too much.”

“I’m always down to clown, but this was sneaky, even for me,” the “Attorney General” responded. “I’m just a simple man who wanted to make things bad for immigrants and now, here I am, taking away the pension of Christian white.”

Later, during the show’s “Weekend Update” segment, McKinnon transformed into DeVos opposite of anchor Colin Jost. The two discussed DeVos’ absolutely ridiculous interview on “60 Minutes” last week, in which she failed to answer even the most basic of questions about education.

“Here to clarify her points is Betsy DeVos,” Cost welcomed McKinnon. “Betsy, what happened with that interview?”

“I think the problem is that the words that were coming out of my mouth were bad and that is because they came from my brain,” McKinnon responded.

“DeVos” subsequently turned to discussing the state of the nation’s schools, where she noted that “I don’t like to think of things in terms of school. It should be up to the states.”

“In Wyoming, for example, which has many potential grizzlies, there should be a school for bears,” she continued, a nod to her infamous grizzly exchange during her confirmation process. “In Louisiana, crocodile crossing guards,” she noted. “And in North Carolina, stop being trans.”

After Jost inquired about her being the “most protested member of Trump’s Cabinet,” McKinnon simply noted that she thought it was because “I do not do a good job and I can’t because I don’t know how.”
