‘A Curious Choice’
Vanessa Trump’s impending divorce from Donald Trump Jr. may not be as simple or uncontested as initial reports suggested: she’s hired a criminal defense attorney to represent her in the wake of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s subpoena of Trump Organization documents related to Russia.
Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from Don Jr. late Thursday. The couple issued a statement asking for privacy for themselves and their five children, who are between 3 and 10 years old.
But The New York Post’s “Page Six” column has just reported the unusual choice of attorneys for Mrs. Trump.
“It’s a curious choice if it’s an amicable separation,” Manhattan family law expert Bonnie Rabin told “Page Six.”
“If it’s an amicable situation, you wouldn’t be highlighting the criminal aspect,” Rabin added.
