John Dowd, President Trump’s personal attorney leading the defense in the Russia probe has just quit.Â
“Mr. Dowd, who took over the president’s legal team last summer, had considered leaving several times in recent months and ultimately concluded that Mr. Trump was increasingly ignoring his advice,” The New York Times reports.

Dowd, back in December, had reportedly claimed the “president cannot obstruct justice.” The Nixonian comment led to calls for his disbarment.
