Trump-Supporter Roseanne Barr Once Posed as Hitler Pulling Burnt People Cookies Out of an Oven

18 million Americans watched the reboot of “Roseanne” this week, but how many would have if they had known the Trump-supporting 65-year old real life Roseanne Barr once dressed up as Hitler – complete with mustache – and pretended to pull burnt cookies in the shape of people out of an oven?

The images, originally shot for a magazine about Jewish culture in 2009 were made famous by a Fox News article drawing attention to the highly-controversial photos.

The analogy to Hitler – who burnt and gassed millions of Jews, and was ultimately responsible for the deaths of over 50 million civilians, prisoners of war, and soldiers – is unmistakeable.

Like her old show, those photos have resurfaced.

Among those drawing attention to them is noted journalist Kurt Eichenwald, a New York Times best-selling author, MSNBC contributor, and Vanity Fair contributing editor. He notes members of his family were burned to death by the Nazis.

Eichenwald goes on to say, “I learned from @foxnews. The photo is real.  @therealroseanne burned cookies looking like people in an oven while dressed as Adolph Hitler. I am actually crying. I think of the anguish of my family, of my in-laws. I think of this little boy, Antosh. One of Roseanne’s cookies.”

Indeed, in 2009, Fox News reported, “Comedian Roseanne Barr has seriously pushed the bar with a new photo spread that depicts her as a domesticated version of Adolf Hitler for Jewish humor magazine Heeb.”

“At her request, Heeb photographed Barr wearing the infamous Hitler moustache and a swastika, holding and preparing to take a bite of what the article refers to as ‘burnt Jew cookies.'”

Heeb magazine is no longer in print but is still online.

Earlier this week Barr came under fire for tweeting “NAZI SALUTE” to Parkland student survivor David Hogg, apparently in reponse to a doctored photo spread by the right that appeared to show him giving a Nazi salute. He did no – it was just one of many false and vile attacks against the Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school students.

On social media, as the news of Barr’s Hitler costume and cookies spreads, some are expressing outrage:
