NY TIMES: John Bolton Paid Cambridge Analytica $1.2 Million to Make Americans ‘More Militaristic’

‘Obsessed With How America Was Becoming-Limp Wristed and Spineless’

The New York Times has just published a bombshell report about President Trump’s incoming National Security Advisor and the scandal-plagued firm his campaign used to help win the White House.

In 2014 John Bolton’s Super PAC paid Cambridge Analytica $1.2 million for “behavioral microtargeting with psychographic messaging,” according to a contract reviewed by the Times. The goal: to make America “more militaristic.”

“The Bolton PAC was obsessed with how America was becoming-limp wristed and spineless and it wanted research and messaging for national security issues,” Cambridge Analytica data expert and co-founder Christopher Wylie told the Times.

“That really meant making people more militaristic in their worldview,” Wylie said. “That’s what they said they wanted, anyway.”

Cambridge Analytica used data it scraped from 50 million Facebook users in its work with Bolton, who is widely seen as a war-monger. Bolton last month penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed making the case for first-strike war against North Korea.
