Man Killed Outside Gay Bar – Driver ‘Intentionally Hit’ Several Patrons

One man is dead and several other people are wounded after a man reportedly “intentionally hit” patrons outside a gay bar in the Montrose area of Houston early Thursday morning, according to a local ABC affiliate on Twitter:

“The incident occurred outside Bayou City Bar & Grill, at Grant Street and Hyde Park Boulevard in the heart of Houston’s LGBTQ neighborhood,” John Wright at Houston’s OutSmart Magazine reports.

Investigators say the driver was out of control and angry,” ABC 13 reports. “Police say he had gotten into an argument with several people before he jumped in his car and drove through the parking lot just hitting people.”

The man who was driving the car is in custody. KPRC’s Cathy Hernandez reports police say the “driver will likely face murder charges.”

A friend of one of those injured “said they were just leaving the bar when they saw people fighting, and that’s when the car hit his buddy.”

“Innocent bystander. A definite innocent bystander. He didn’t know anyone who was fighting. We were just talking and before we knew it, he was under the car,” he told ABC 13.
