Trump Actively Interviewing Replacements
President Donald Trump has decide to oust National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, according to a report in The Washington Post Thursday night. McMaster, a Lt. General, has served in the U.S. Army since 1984. He was tapped by Trump to replace the president’s first National Security Advisor, Mike Flynn, now a confessed felon and reportedly a cooperating witness with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Trump “is actively discussing potential replacements, according to five people with knowledge of the plans, preparing to deliver yet another jolt to the senior ranks of his administration,” The Post reports. Trump earlier this week fired his Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, and the fourth highest-ranking official at the State Dept., who issued a statement contradicting the White House’s description of how and when Tillerson was terminated.
The President “is now comfortable with ousting McMaster, with whom he never personally gelled, but is willing to take time executing the move because he wants to ensure both that the three-star Army general is not humiliated and that there is a strong successor lined up,” The Post claims.
But after The Post’s report was published, Bloomberg News reported the White House claims Trump “hasn’t made a final decision on removing” McMaster.
McMaster is yet another administration official who is described as not having a friendly relationship with President Trump, who values undying loyalty above all else.
Rumors are flying this week also the Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be fired shortly.
