Conservative Pundit: Hillary Damaged an Entire ‘Generation of Girls’ by Not Divorcing Bill – So Melania Must Leave Donald

Conservative pundit S.E. Cupp says Hillary Clinton damaged the girls of her generation by standing by her husband instead of divorcing Bill Clinton. Cupp, who is 39, is insisting that Melania Trump now owes it to this “generation of girls” to do “what Hillary did not do for mine, and leave her jerk of a husband.”

Whatever private individuals may think of the marriage of Hillary and Bill Clinton, it is astonishing that a conservative – someone from the party of “family values” – would encourage divorce.

It is also absolutely none of her business.

S.E. Cupp has forged a niche for herself as a conservative with a few more liberal leanings. Her Fox News gigs have turned into an HLN show, and she has a long-running column at the N.Y. Daily News.

“Donald Trump has very likely cheated on his wife, multiple times, with porn stars and playmates and who knows who else, and that this is all playing out very publicly, is particularly humiliating for Melania Trump,” Cupp writes, and said on her HLN show:

(She even uses a footage of Barron Trump in her HLN piece, which is just plain wrong.) (HLN is part of the CNN network.)

“While it’s hard to imagine she didn’t know who she married, she’s also just a woman, wife and mother like the rest of us. There’s a real person in there, and she must be reeling.”

Actually, maybe she is, and maybe she isn’t. And Cupp knows exactly no more or less than you or I do. For all we know, Donald and Melania have an open marriage. Or an “understanding.”

What happens inside of anyone’s marriage is no one’s business, unless there’s emotional and/or physical abuse.

Once again, the right wing thinks it has the right to dictate how people should behave in their private lives. And blaming Hillary Clinton for anything in this matter is just typical of the obsessed far right.

What Donald Trump is and has done to his country I find disgusting. Personally, what he has done to his family I think is too.

But calling on Melania Trump – or any woman – to divorce her husband is beyond the pale.

It is her decision, and hers alone. That S.E. Cupp thinking Melania Trump needs her advice, or has an obligation to the country to quit her marriage is astonishingly belittling and demeaning to the First Lady, as a human being.

Far be it from me to defend a single member of the Trump family. I’ve made it clear exactly what I think of them all (at least those adults with a public profile.)

And I’m not. But marriage is the business of the two people in it, and no one else’s.

Shame on S.E. Cupp for thinking it’s hers.
