Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced Tuesday night she would be visiting Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, Wednesday morning – and barring the press from covering her visit. Secretary DeVos’ visits to schools have been marked by protests over her far right wing anti-LGBT policies, along with her efforts to marginalize minority and disabled students.

The Secretary’s visit to the school will be closed press out of respect for the students and faculty who are returning to their first full day back in the classroom,” her press release states (bolding original.)

Meanwhile, the Parkland students are not happy that DeVos is coming to visit.

One of the most-recognizable student survivors, David Hogg, did not tweet but he did retweet carly, and Emma González.
