‘Hey Traitor. Traitor!’
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort pleaded not guilty to a federal grand jury’s 18-count indictment in Robert Mueller’s Russia probe Thursday afternoon. On his way out of the Alexandria, Virginia court Manafort was greeted by a protestor who threw a small Russia flag at him.
“Hey traitor, here’s your flag! Russian flag,” the man yelled. He then followed Manafort, flanked apparently by his attorneys, with a sign written in large block letters that read, “TRAITOR” on one side, and “BLOOD MONEY” on the other. As Manafort ignored him and kept walking, his attorney who threw the flag back at the protestor.
“Hey traitor. Traitor!” the protestor kept repeating.Â
Manafort is facing charges of money laundering and tax evasion, among others.Â
