‘Fake Memos’: Trump Begins Sunday with Attack on McCabe, Comey

Asserts Comey Lied Under Oath

Donald Trump began his Sunday morning with a transparent attack on former FBI Director James Comey and the recently fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

“Wow, watch Comey lie under oath to Senator G when asked ‘have you ever been an anonymous source…or known someone else to be an anonymous source…?’ He said strongly ‘never, no,'” the president tweeted. “He lied as shown clearly on @foxandfriends.”

“Spent very little time with Andrew McCabe, but he never took notes when he was with me,” he turned to McCabe. “I don’t believe he made memos except to help his own agenda, probably at a later date. Same with lying James Comey. Can we call them Fake Memos?”

The attacks follow Comey’s warning to the president on Saturday that the American people would soon hear his story, allowing them to judge for themselves who is honorable and who isn’t. They also follow the reports that McCabe kept documentation on his interactions with the president, something that clearly unnerves Trump.

Twitter quickly weighed in on the president’s commentary:
