Trump Will Release Nunes Memo Friday: Report

President Said After SOTU He Would Release Memo

President Trump will release the Nunes memo Friday, Reuters reports. The news agency cites a senior White House official.

The Nunes memo, which contains classified information and has only been viewed by its author, Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA), House Republicans, and a small number of Democrats, allegedly will reveal bias within the FBI.

Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff (D-CA), who has viewed it, says it contains “profound distortions and inaccuracies” in a letter accusing Nunes of altering it before sending it to the White House.

It was not clear whether there may be some redactions given national security concerns raised by the FBI or whether the committee may need to vote on its release,” Reuters adds.

The Washington Post’s Greg Sargent earlier Thursday said Trump may use the Nunes memo as a tool to remove Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who oversees Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his Russia investigation, and replace him with a Trump loyalist.

After the State of the Union President Trump was caught on a hot mic saying “100 percent” he would be releasing the memo.
