WATCH: Chuck Schumer Tells LGBT Activists Donald Trump Is the ‘Most Dangerous’ President in History
‘We’re Gonna Win! We’re Gonna Win! We’re Gonna Win!’
Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wasted no time Saturday night, beginning his speech to a large group of LGBT activists in New York by calling President Donald Trump the “most dangerous” president in U.S. history.
“We are dealing with probably the most dangerous and worst man in the presidency we have ever had in the history of this nation,” Schumer told more than 1000 attendees at the Human Rights Campaign’s Greater New York Gala at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan.
A very animated and excited Schumer, perhaps feeling victorious after the Nunes memo failed to deliver the promised evidence of wrongdoing at the highest levels of the FBI, stood at the podium and ripped up his prepared remarks.
Schumer then launched into an optimistic and amusing speech explaining how he got into politics but warned that the GOP’s top target, the Democratic Senator they most want to unseat is the first out Senator, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.
“If we win and we take back the Senate that means that I will have the sole power to determine what goes on the floor of the Senate,” Senator Schumer said, as Newsweek reported, “and, that will mean we will not get another backward right wing judge on the Supreme Court, period!”
“It means we’ll be able stop Donald Trump from putting all his junk on the floor and stop the anti-LGBT cascade of things that come into the United States Senate,” Schumer explained.
“So keep up the activism, keep up the calling, keep up everything that you do and we will take this country back!”
“We’re gonna win! We’re gonna win! We’re gonna win!” he promised.
