Trump Uses Parkland Mass Shooting to Attack FBI for Russia Investigation

"Get Back to Basics!"

As the country mourns the lives lost in its latest mass shooting, Donald Trump took to Twitter late Saturday to use the tragedy to further his attacks on the FBI.

"Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter. This is not acceptable," the president wrote. "They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign - there is no collusion. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!"

The attack follows reports such as the one below, from CNN:

The FBI failed to act on a tip about Nikolas Cruz, the confessed shooter in the Parkland, Florida, school massacre, the bureau said in a statement on Friday.

A person close to Cruz contacted the FBI on January 5 to report concerns about him, the FBI said in a statement Friday. But the bureau did not appropriately follow established protocols in following up on the tip.

"The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time," the statement said.

Twitter was quick to weigh in yesterday after Trump used the tragedy in Parkland for a tone deaf photo-op, and once again after the president utilized it to attack the FBI:
