Trump Blasts FBI and DOJ Top Leadership in Pre-Dawn Rant Paving Way for Memo Release

President Appointed Many in FBI and DOJ Top Leadership

President Donald Trump in an early Friday morning rant attacked the top leadership of the FBI and Department of Justice, accusing them of anti-GOP bias and politicization of investigations. It is a clear effort to justify what most believe he will do later today: release the controversial and already discredited Nunes memo, which is also expected to attack top FBI and DOJ leadership – many of whom are Trump appointees.

“The top Leadership and Investigators of the FBI and the Justice Department have politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans – something which would have been unthinkable just a short time ago. Rank & File are great people!” Trump tweeted at 6:33 AM.

He then went on to quote right wing activist Tom Fitton, who heads Judicial Watch and had just appeared on “Fox & Friends.”

Fitton in December accused the FBI of being “compromised,” falsely claiming it had been “turned into a KGB-type operation by the Obama administration.”
