Trump Announces He’ll Be Speaking at Far Right Wing Conference Next Week

‘The Journey to #MAGA Began @CPAC 2011’

Crediting his attendance at the far right wing conference seven years ago with his successful race for the White House, President Donald Trump has announced that he will once again be addressing CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, next week.

“The journey to began 2011 and the opportunity to reconnect with friends and supporters is something I look forward to every year. See you at !” the president tweeted.

CPAC, attended by many fringe groups and politicians, is held each year by the the American Conservative Union, currently headed by Fox News commentator Matt Schlapp. The annual conference holds a straw poll where attendees “vote” for president. Almost never has the straw poll winner gone on to win the White House.

The speakers at next week’s CPAC will include the NRA’s Dana Loesch, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Brexit advocate Nigel Farage, and Sen. Ted Cruz.

Here’s Trump’s speech from last year, where he promised the wall would be built soon and “way ahead of schedule.”
