Senator Attacks Media While Defending Weapons of War
Senator Marco Rubio right now is defending assault weapons on Twitter. The Florida Republican U.S. Senator was repeatedly booed at Wednesday night’s CNN town hall on guns, telling student survivors of the Parkland, Florida school mass shooting that he will not refuse donations from the NRA because they support his agenda.
On Twitter Thursday afternoon, in a somewhat quizzical pair of tweets Rubio attacked the mainstream media, while defending assault rifles. In the vast majority of notable mass shootings across America military style assault weapons, like the AR-15, are the weapon of choice for domestic terrorists and other murderous gunmen.
Will anyone in msm ever point out that “Assault Weapons†are not rapid fire? They fire no faster than any pistol or most hunting rifles? 2/2

Minutes later Rubio decided to get technical and attack the difference between semi-automatic and assault weapons:
I call BS on false story.I said ban on all SEMI-AUTO. Prove me wrong.Ask Dem delegation if they support such a ban https://t.co/qphhMClBri

Rubio was also booed Wednesday night for his position on banning assault weapons. He claimed the “problem” is defining what an assault weapon is, and there are thousands of styles and makes that could fall into the definition.Â
The Florida GOP Senator said “the problem” with a ban on AR-15s is “you would have to ban every semi-automatic rifle sold in America.” The audience cheered the “problem.”
The NRA has donated over $3 million to Rubio’s campaigns.
