DOW Drops Almost 1600 Points Before Closing Down Over 1100 Points – Biggest Drop in History

The stock markets have tumbled for the second day in a row. Here’s where it was about one hour ago:

The DOW at one point Monday afternoon was down nearly 1600 points, after having dropped Friday 665 points. Monday afternoon the DOW closed down about 1178 points, or down 4.6%.

Financial experts remind investors and those distressed by the drops that the markets are not the economy.
