Right Wing Pundit Tries to Discredit Author of Trump Bombshell Book by Saying He Might Be Gay, Has a ‘Gay Face’

‘This Is Just My Theory, but He Has a Gay Face’ Gavin McInnes Says

A co-founder of VICE Media and head of a far right wing “fraternity” is trying to discredit Michael Wolff, the author of Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” by suggesting he might be gay. Gavin McInnes also says that gay people who have not come out “tend to be sociopaths.”

“Why are we assuming that Michael Wolff is good at his job? Have you ever seen Michael Wolff?” McInnes, who has a show on the online far right wing network CRTV, asks in a Facebook post.

“Now, this isn’t a fact, this is just my theory, but he has a gay face,” he continues, as Right Wing Watch first reported Wednesday.

It’s unclear what being gay or not, or having a “gay face” has to do with being good at your job. It’s also unclear what “gay face” is.

“And there’s nothing wrong with being gay,” McInnes continues, adding, “obviously.”

“Chadwick Moore is a wonderful gay, so is Milo Yiannopoulous, but he appears to be a closeted gay and my experience with them is that they tend to be sociopaths,” he claimed. “They have a lot of bottled up sexual rage and they want revenge on the world. I don’t trust these stories.”

CRTV is home to right wing pundits including Michelle Malkin, Mark Levin, “Duck Dynasty” dad Phil Robertson, and Matt Kibbe, the former president of the Koch Brothers’ group FreedomWorks.

“Does that face look a little gay to you?” asks McInnes, speaking of Wolff, in this video compilation (above) posted by Right Wing Watch. “I mean, it’s the lips. That kind of a pocket square, I wear it sometimes. I have slept with hundreds of women. So you have to either be a pimp, or a pussy. Seriously, though. Look at his demeanor. Am I crazy? Does that look like a closeted gay man to you? Only black guys and me can get away with that kind of color scheme.”

At the end of his livestream, McInnes brought his theory about Wolff full circle, adding a disclaimer that his claim should just be considered “Gavin pulling stuff out of his ass.”

“My gut kind of vibe is that this has to do with repressed homosexuality,” McInnes said again, before directing viewers to watch Wolff’s mannerisms during a news interview.

Last year a conservative author described Proud Boys as an “adult ‘Western chauvinist’ fraternity. It’s like Old School, but with uncomfortable racial and sexual subtext!”

McInnes left VICE in 2008.

Right Wing Watch notes the video above “contains three distinct clips from the nearly 17-minute long Facebook Live broadcast.”
