Paul Manafort Files Lawsuit Against Robert Mueller and DOJ

Legal Analyst Calls Suit ‘Frivolous’

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has just filed a lawsuit against FBI special counsel Robert Mueller, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and the United States Department of Justice.

Speaking on MSNBC, NBC News legal analyst Nick Ackerman called it a “frivolous lawsuit” that will be quickly “dismissed.”

Manafort is under indictment and confined to house arrest as a result of Mueller’s investigation into the Trump team’s Russia ties and Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. He is suing the DOJ, Mueller, and Rosenstein “for injunctive relief to restrict public officers to their lawful authority.”

Manafort’s lawsuit, according to MSNBC, says the DOJ interviewed him in 2014 and didn’t indict him. He’s also stating that his indictment goes further than what Mueller is supposed to be investigating.

The actual lawsuit can be read here.
