Kellyanne Conway: Russia Didn’t Interfere in the Election – But the Media Did
‘Not a Top Five Issue’
The Trump administration is trotting out its top officials ahead of the president’s State of the Union address Tuesday night. Among them, Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, who was only too happy to share her thoughts on Russian interference in the U.S. election.
According to Conway, Trump will not mention that Russia interfered in the U.S. election during his address Tuesday night, because “it’s not a top five issue,” she claims. And in fact, Conway has a different analysis of who interfered in the election that put her boss in the Oval Office.
It wasn’t Russia, it was the media, Conway insists.
“Let me tell you something,” the former Trump campaign manager said, lecturing CNN’s Chris Cuomo. “Everybody who said Donald Trump couldn’t win. Everybody who said the election was all wrapped up. Every screaming headline, every wrong poll, every anchor, every pundit who said, ‘This is over, it’s a joke, he can’t win, he can’t govern,’ tried to interfere in the election.”
“And it didn’t work,” she added.

Here’s how some responded via social media:
Russian military intelligence = good.
Free press = bad. https://t.co/Yj2TPQn92G

Shorter Conway : the real threat isn’t Russia, it’s the First Amendment. https://t.co/KO6hddxyD6

Professional sycophant @kellyannepolls will say just about anything to distract from the Russia investigation: ‘Media coverage of the 2016 presidential race was actually a massive anti-Trump conspiracy!’ https://t.co/5dGMa8B1H9
