Kate McKinnon Adds Robert Mueller to Growing List of SNL Impersonations (Video)
“The Cat’s Already Out of the Bagâ€
Fan-favorite and award-winning “Saturday Night Live†(SNL) cast member Kate McKinnon upped her impersonation game this weekend, adding special counsel Robert Mueller to her arsenal.
McKinnon joined “Weekend Update†co-host Colin Jost as Mueller, who’s currently conducting his Russia investigation, to offer commentary on the matter.
“It’s me, Robert Mueller,†the actress began. “It’s an honor to be here. I wanted to come out here tonight to, uh, assure the American people that our investigation is progressing smoothly—and we’re looking forward to a timely and ordering conclusion.â€
“That’s great,†Jost responded, “can you give us a sense of where it’s heading?â€
“Well, obviously I can’t discuss particulars of an ongoing investigation, but uh,†McKinnon’s gleeful Mueller responded, “but uh, yeah… we good.â€
“I wanna tell you so bad,†McKinnon teased, desperate to reveal details of the tight-lipped investigation. “NO! I can’t. Bobby, Bobby, Bobby—don’t do this, I’m not gonna.â€
At one point, Jost inquires about Trump firing Mueller, and “Mueller†advises that “it’s a little late for that. The cat’s already out of the bag. And the bag’s full of—how do I say this? Michael Flynn’s wire taps.â€
McKinnon further asserted that “the guy didn’t leave me a trail of bread crumbs. He left me full loaves—seven-grain loaves straight from Panera Bread. I’m having a blast.â€
