Internet Mocks Trump for Telling Anti-Choice Activists He Opposes Allowing Babies to Be Born in the Ninth Month of Pregnancy

‘The Laws Allow a Baby to Be Born From His or Her Mother’s Womb in the Ninth Month. It Is Wrong. It Has to Change’ Trump Says

President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to address live the anti-choice March for Life activists who are working to overturn Roe v. Wade to make abortion illegal. But the president made a bit of an error in his speech, telling them he opposes allowing women to carry their pregnancies to term, and giving birth in the ninth month.

“Right now, in a number of states, the laws allow a baby to be born from his or her mother’s womb in the ninth month. It is wrong. It has to change.”

Some believe he meant to say “torn,” not “born,” but video clearly shows he said “born” in the ninth month.

Vox, by the way, reported on late-term abortions after Trump, during a 2016 presidential debate, attacked Hillary Clinton by claiming, “based on what she’s saying and based on where she’s going and where she’s been, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb in the ninth month, on the final day.”

“The federal government estimates that 91.4 percent of abortions in the United States are performed in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. An estimated 1.3 percent of abortions happen later than 21 weeks into pregnancy. And none are happening on ‘the final day’ of pregnancy. As one abortion provider trained in late-term abortion tweeted:”

Gunter also wrote at HuffPo, “There are no ninth month abortions. Really. A ninth month abortion is a unicorn and so it’s ridiculous to even discuss it. Terminations after 24 weeks are for severe fetal anomalies.”

Here’s how some responded to Trump’s “born” mistake on Twitter:
