FBI Issues Rare Public Statement Accusing GOP Congressman’s Memo of ‘Material Omissions of Fact’

‘We Have Grave Concerns About Material Omissions of Fact That Fundamentally Impact the Memo’s Accuracy’ FBI Says

In an extremely rare move the FBI has issued a statement criticizing a memo drafted by House Republican Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes. The Bureau says Rep. Nunes’ memo contains “material omissions of fact.”

The memo is believed to include classified information about ongoing federal investigations, and yet the Republican House members voted to allow President Trump to release it to the public.

The Bureau’s memo, which had to have been approved by FBI Director Christopher Wray, says, “we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.”

In short, the FBI is accusing Chairman Nunes of spreading false information.

The memo, as Raw Story notes, “alleges a conspiracy within the FBI to bring down President Donald Trump,” and “has been slammed by Democrats for allegedly being misleading and for cherry picking intelligence to justify sweeping, unsupported conclusions.”

The FBI, along with Democrats, is urging President Donald Trump not released the highly controversial memo.
