Trump Calls CNN ‘Fake News’ After Man Arrested for Allegedly Threatening to Shoot CNN Employees Over ‘Fake News’
‘The Trump Effect’
At 5:59 PM Monday a CBS affiliate in Atlanta broke the news that a man had been arrested a week ago after allegedly calling CNN 22 times threatening to shoot and kill all their employees.Â
“Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down,” the 19-year old man, according to court documents, told a CNN operator during one call, CBS 46 reports.
“I’m smarter than you. More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours,” he reportedly said during another.
“I am coming to Georgia right now to go to the CNN headquarters to f—ing gun every single last one of you,” he is also accused of saying.
Barely more than 12 hours after the CBS report, which quickly spread overnight, President Trump was back calling CNN “Fake News.”
In a rare twist, the president tweeted a back-handed compliment to CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent.
Even Crazy Jim Acosta of Fake News CNN agrees: “Trump World and WH sources dancing in end zone: Trump wins again…Schumer and Dems caved…gambled and lost.†Thank you for your honesty Jim!

Trump has specifically called Acosta and CNN “fake news” on camera before.
On Twitter alone, Trump has called CNN “Fake News” more than 30 times.
Some are now pointing at President Trump and blaming him directly for creating the environment where someone would threaten a domestic terror attack on the news media.
A terrorist attack targeting CNN was averted. Thank God. It was bad enough before, but the next time this President or any one in his WH engages in attacks on the FAKE NEWS AS ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE they do so with the full knowledge that the blood will be on their hands next time

“Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down.”
The things our leaders say and do, good and bad, inspire others to act accordingly. Their examples should encourage unity and respect for our vital institutions, not enmity and threats of violence.https://t.co/ogHw0MBJxi

A Michigan man threatened to go to Atlanta to commit mass murder at @CNN headquarters. The man made 22 calls to CNN about a week ago that began with claims of “fake news” and ended with threats of violence. Wonder where he could have been radicalized. https://t.co/h2FiHvWnQT

If POTUS can complain in a campaign ad the Democrats are complicit in murder for a government shutdown, then POTUS is complicit in any harm done to journalists when he screams “Fake News” and says we are the enemy of the people. https://t.co/chyRLw9EgE

Don’t miss this story.
For context, recall President Trump coined the term ‘fake news’ and tweeted out to his followers a video of himself physically assaulting a @CNN character.

A plot to kill journalists was discovered and prevented. Trump’s next tweet: Attacking the journalists that were targeted. This is stupid, irresponsible, reckless. pic.twitter.com/Y227lOxtuR

When you call journalists “the enemy of the people,†or “a stain on America†& tweet violent images of CNN being beat up (by the President) or hit by a ‘Trump train,’ it matters. Thank goodness this domestic terror plot was prevented, but Trump’s reckless rhetoric is dangerous. https://t.co/BSDMyS3EH3
