‘Can’t Believe I Get to Call This Extraordinary Woman My Wife’
Ellen Page has announced she just got married to Emma Portner, a professional dancer.
“Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife,” the “X-Men,” “Freeheld,” and “Inception” star said on Instagram (above). Page, who came out in a beautiful speech to LGBTQ teens at an HRC event on Valentine’s Day 2014, posted a series of three photos.
Portner responded via Instagram, sharing the same photo and writing, “I get to call this incredible woman MY WIFE! @ellenpage I LOVE YOU!”

Portner also has a photo of her and Page together on her Instagram page (below.)
NME, which reported Page’s announcement, notes Portner “appeared in Justin Bieber’s ‘Life Is Worth Living’ video.”
PEOPLE notes both are Canadian, and they “made a public splash together in September, when Page brought Portner as a date to the premiere of her film Flatliners.”
In early November Page shared her thoughts on being sexually harassed by director Bret Ratner in a lengthy and powerful Facebook post. In it she condemned the “abusers” who “make us feel powerless.”
