FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, under relentless attacks and harassment from President Trump, has just announced he is stepping down effective immediately. McCabe, just 49, had announced he would retire at the end of March, after the president’s angry tweets targeting him, but this moves that date up by several months.
McCabe is a career intelligence official who leaves after 22 years of service.
Trump spread “fake news” by attacking McCabe, whose wife ran as a Democrat. The timeline of events mentioned by Trump is inaccurate, making his allegations false.
