After Entirety of Hawaii Fears Incoming Ballistic Missile, Trump Attacks ‘Fire and Fury’ and Media

“He Couldn’t Care Less”

Early Saturday, the entire state of Hawaii was advised to seek immediate shelter due to an inbound ballistic missile. It took the state nearly 40 minutes to issue an official correction for the “false alarm,” and now the president has issued his first statement in the incident’s aftermath.

Having returned from his latest round of golf this afternoon, Donald Trump took to Twitter not to offer comfort to Hawaiians who literally feared for their lives as they awoke – but to attack  Michael Wolff‘s bombshell tell-all book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” and the free press at large.

“So much Fake News is being reported. They don’t even try to get it right, or correct it when they are wrong,” Trump tweeted, completely ignoring his own tendencies and mere flirtations with the truth. “They promote the Fake Book of a mentally deranged author, who knowingly writes false information. The Mainstream Media is crazed that WE won the election!”

Following the false alert in Hawaii, the White House released a statement advising that Trump had been briefed on the matter. “This was purely a state exercise,” deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters wrote.
