With the Worst Record in Modern US History Trump Again Lies He’s ‘Essentially’ Repealed ObamaCare
The Majority of Americans Like ObamaCare, Mr. President. And by Double Digits, That’s More Than Like You.
There is no doubt Donald Trump has the worst record in modern U.S. history of any president – not to mention the ones who were lucky enough to enter the Oval Office with control of both the House and Senate. There is also no doubt that the current White House occupant is a serial liar, which was proven even before his “landslide” Electoral College victory (which ranks 46th out of 58 elections.)
Early in the AM on the day after Christmas President Trump awoke in his beloved Mar-a-Lago golf club and resort, his 111th day at a Trump property since taking office, and lied once again to the American people. The Washington Post has been tracking this president’s lies. Last month The Post reported “In 298 days, President Trump has made 1,628 false and misleading claims.”Â
The most-repeated lie Trump has told?
“Obamacare is a disaster. It’s virtually dead. As far as I’m concerned, it really is dead.â€
Since signing his tax-cuts-for-the-rich bill into law, President Trump has repeatedly claimed it repeals ObamaCare.
“Obamacare has been repealed in this bill,†Trump lied just six days ago, after falsely claiming, “When the individual mandate is being repealed, that means ObamaCare is being repealed.â€
It does not.
Tuesday morning Trump did it again.
Based on the fact that the very unfair and unpopular Individual Mandate has been terminated as part of our Tax Cut Bill, which essentially Repeals (over time) ObamaCare, the Democrats & Republicans will eventually come together and develop a great new HealthCare plan!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 26, 2017
Repealing the Individual Mandate simply means 13 million people will lose health Care coverage – hardly something to brag about.Â
Neither is a “win.”
Fortunately, it does not mean ObamaCare has been repealed. Unfortunately it means health care will become even more expensive for those who can least afford it.Â
Trump has done everything he can to kill ObamaCare. He has repeatedly threatened to not fund the cost sharing mechanisms that allow insurance companies that sell policies on the health care exchanges to not do so at a loss. That’s created instability and fear, driving up the cost of premiums. Trump cut the budget for ads reminding people to sign up for health care by 90%, he shut down the federal ObamaCare website for “maintenance” every Sunday during open enrollment, did noting to educate the public about the benefits of being insured, and slashed the amount of time Americans had to sign up for health care.
How did Americans react? Did they stop signing up?

No.
Despite all his efforts, ObamaCare enrollment this year over last year remained almost the same – dropping just 4%.
The majority of Americans like ObamaCare, Mr. President. And by double digits, that’s more than like you.
