Sore Loser Roy Moore Hasn’t Conceded the Alabama Race and Maybe Never Will, Because God.

‘I Waited Patiently for the Lord’

Republican Roy Moore in a stunning upset Tuesday night lost to Democrat Doug Jones. Now more than 15 hours since all major news outlets reported Jones the winner, Moore not only has yet to concede, but signs point to him possibly never doing so.

“We also know God is always in control,” Moore told supporters Tuesday night, after Jones had already delivered his speech acknowledging the historic win. “One of the problems with this campaign is we’ve been painted in an unfavorable and unfaithful light. We’ve been in a hole, if you will. It reminds me of a passage in Psalm 40.”

“‘I waited patiently for the Lord’ – and that’s what we’ve got to do,” Moore said, quoting Scripture.

“That’s what we’ve got to do is wait on God and let this process play out. The votes are still coming in. We’re looking at that,” Moore said.

“Realize when vote is this close, it’s not over and we still have to go by the rules,” Moore added.

But the vote was not close, at least not close enough for the rules to trigger an automatic recount. Jones beat Moore by nearly 21,000 votes, or 1.5 percentage points – three times the number required for a recount. And unless “Judge” Moore wants to pony up reportedly $1.5 million to pay for the recount, and unless he thinks God is going to intervene to give him the win, he can refuse to concede all he wants, but Doug Jones will be sworn in as the next U.S. Senator for Alabama.

Will Moore concede?

Raw Story points to these tweets from an evangelical Christian writer at Washingtonian magazine that both explain Moore’s remarks and suggest there may never be a concession from Moore.
