Sarah Huckabee Sanders Falsely Suggests ‘Witnesses’ and 2016 Election Prove Trump Is Innocent of Sexual Assault Allegations

Press Secretary Refuses to Say if the Allegations of Sexual Assault Are False

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is falsely suggesting now that there are “witnesses” that prove sexual assault allegations against President Donald Trump are false, and that the 2016 election has exonerated him. Both claims are false.

The White House press secretary made her remarks Monday afternoon in response to reporters’ questions that were raised after three of Trump’s accusers appeared on NBC News’ “Today” show Monday morning, calling for a congressional investigation into Trump’s actions.

“Look, the President has addressed these accusations directly and denied all of these allegations, and this took place long before he was elected to be president,” an embattled Huckabee Sanders told reporters. “The people of this country at a decisive election supported President Trump, and we feel like these allegations have been answered through that process,” she added, which is also false. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by nearly 3 million more votes.

“The American people knew this and voted for the President,” she also said, suggesting, as she did last week, that Americans don’t care about the accusations of sexual assault against Trump made by at least 16 women.

Huckabee Sanders refused to state if the allegations are false:

Asked to name the supposed “witnesses” that have come forward to prove Trump has not committed sexual assault, the press secretary said the media has reported them but she would provide a list.

“There is only one ‘eyewitness,’ and his story is a sham,” ThinkProgress reports.
