Moore Taking Loss Especially Hard
“Judge” Roy Moore appears to have been taking his stunning loss to Democrat Doug Jones very hard. Aside from refusing to concede, now nine days after the election he lost by 21,000 votes, Moore has taken to posting articles on Facebook he apparently thinks explain why he lost.
As Raw Story’s Brad Reed first reported Thursday morning, Moore posted to Facebook an article from the conspiracy theory website WND (formerly known as WorldNetDaily), titled, “How Muslims and Marxists delivered for Doug Jones.”Â
Moore also posted to his Judge Roy Moore for Senate 2017 Facebook page an article from The Advocate, “Doug Jones’s Gay Son Is ‘Thrilled’ by the Alabama Win.”
But apparently, after articles in Raw Story, music-focused website SPIN, and The Daily Beast all highlighting those posts, Moore has removed (or made private) the post linking to The Advocate’s story about Jones’ gay son Carson Jones.Â
SPIN appears to have embedded the Facebook post. It now has a Facebook-originated message saying, “This Facebook post is no longer available. It may have been removed or the privacy settings of the post may have changed.”
Raw Story and The Daily Beast screenshotted the post, and those images still appear in their stories.
“Unless Roy Moore has suddenly become an LGBT advocate,” The Daily Beast writes, “and is celebrating his own electoral defeat at the hands of Jones (let us know Roy! we’ll send a rainbow flag over!), and celebrating the presence of Carson as a happy, out gay man, there is only one reason that Moore linked to the interview on his page: to signal that Doug Jones has a gay son, and generate as much poison as he can from that from his supporters.”
If true, it worked.
Raw Story notes “Moore’s followers quickly responded with homophobic comments attacking Jones’s son.”
“Shame they slander a great Alabamian Judge Moore and then the sick left winner shows its perversion,†wrote one.
“Obviously Jone’s (sic) was an absent father for his son to be a homosexual, if the election continues as is he won’t be much of a Senator either,†wrote another.
Of course, Roy Moore built his political career on the backs of the LGBT community, and believes gay people should be jailed, so it’s no surprise his supporters are homophobic.Â

Trump May Deliver Convention Speech and Accept GOP Nomination From the South Lawn of the White House
President Donald Trump may make yet another move to obliterate longstanding norms and the separation of politics from matters of state by accepting the GOP nomination for president and delivering his convention speech, all televised across the nation, live, from the vaunted South Lawn of the White House.
“Republican National Convention planners are considering the White House South Lawn,” The Washington Post reports.
It is yet another unprecedented move, one that fits in well with Trump’s usurpation of the power and trappings of the Oval Office for personal and political gain, and his equating of the Office of the Presidency with himself.
“Every White House staff member who participates in this violates the Hatch Act,” law professor and former chief White House ethics lawyer Richard Painter says.
The Hatch Act “does not apply to ‘rooms in the White House or in the residence of the Vice President, which are part of the residence area or which are not regularly used solely in the discharge of official duties,'” the Post notes.
The New York Times reported Monday the interior of the White House is also being considered by the RNC.
Trump Nominee Has Called to ‘Shoot People’ at the Border and Warned About Allowing ‘Wrong Culture’ Into the US
President Donald Trump’s nominee to become the next Ambassador to Germany has repeatedly called for martial law at the U.S.-Mexico border, and has called for “shooting people” there if necessary, along with ensuring people bringing the “wrong culture” cannot be allowed into the United States.
His focus is not just on the U.S.-Mexico border. Germany may take issue with him too.
Retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, CNN reports, “has a history of making xenophobic and racist comments about immigrants and refugees in both Germany and the US.”
Macgregor has “referred to Muslim refugees in Germany as ‘unwanted invaders,'” while advocating to not protect Germany from Russia – a policy that aligns well with Trump.
“The Germans, like the Koreans and the Japanese, are tired of this American troop presence on their soil. And I think that if you want the Germans to step up and assert themselves as the great power that they are, one of the first steps in that direction is to change our relationship with Germany in terms of military power. Make it clear to them that we are not going to be the first responder,” said Macgregor in 2019. “We will continue to be allied and we will support, but we’re not going to rush hundreds of thousands of troops to the Polish border to deal with the Russians.”
He also claimed “The Germans, thanks to us, don’t feel obligated to defend themselves.”
While he doesn’t want active U.S. troops protecting Germany, he does want them in the United States, protecting us from immigrants and asylum seekers.
“Macgregor warned that the most serious threat to US national security was in Mexico and that the country undermined ‘the very strengthened cohesion of our society,'” CNN reports. “He claimed that ‘hostile Islamist cells’ operating out of South America were coming into the US through the US border.”
“Well, the only solution is martial law on the border, putting the United States Army in charge of it and closing it off would take about 30, 40,000 troops. We’re talking about the regular army. You need robust rules of engagement. That means that you can shoot people as required if your life is in danger,” he said in 2019.
Macgregor also “often demonized immigrants and refugees. He warned Mexican cartels were ‘driving millions of Mexicans with no education, no skills and the wrong culture into the United States, placing them essentially as wards of the American people.’ He repeatedly advocated to institute martial law at the US-Mexico border and ‘shoot people’ if necessary.”

The world has been stunned by a massive explosion in Beirut that has caused the deaths of at least dozens of people, and thousands more wounded.
No cause has been announced, but during his coronavirus press briefing President Donald Trump declared it was a “bomb” and an “attack.”

“I met with some of our great generals and they just seem to feel it was” an attack, Trump told reporters. “This was not a, uh, some kind of a manufacturing a explosion of event. This was a, uh, seems to be according to them, they would know better than I would but they seem to think it was a, uh, attack. It was a bomb of some kind.”
