Roy Moore Claims He Lost Due to ‘Election Fraud’ and ‘Unusual’ High Black Voter Turnout – Demands Do-Over

Can’t Understand Why Black Voters Turned Out in Large Numbers to Vote Against Him After He Said America Hadn’t’t Been Great Since Slavery

The Republican Party’s nominee to fill Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat lost the special election more than two weeks ago, and only now is taking action – literally 14 hours before the results are to be certified. Roy Moore late Wednesday night filed a lawsuit claiming “election fraud,” and is demanding an investigation and a do-over, insisting the state hold (and pay for) “a new special election.”

Moore’s lawsuit also demands the results of the December 12 special election, won with nearly 21,000 more votes by his Democratic opponent Doug Jones, not be certified.

In the complaint, Moore’s attorneys noted the higher than expected turnout in the race, particularly in Jefferson County, and said that Moore’s numbers were suspiciously low in about 20 Jefferson County precincts,” The Associated Press reports.

Moore’s lawsuit, CNN adds, “alleges that out-of-state residents had been allowed to vote and that election fraud experts had concluded through statistical analyses that fraud had taken place. One of the election experts Moore cites is Richard Charnin, who also posts about JFK conspiracy theories and the murder of DNC staffer, Seth Rich.”

The twice-booted former state Supreme Court Chief Justice, who has been accused of child sexual assault, sexual assault, and aggressive pursuit of teenaged girls, during the election had said America had not been great since slavery was legal.

In his lawsuit he cites high turnout by Black voters who voted against him in large numbers, and said it was unusual.

“Moore’s complaint also alleged ‘anomalous’ higher voter turnout in Jefferson County, in which census data shows 43% of the population is black,” CNN notes. “He called the county’s 47% voter turnout as ‘highly unusual’ and questioned the integrity of its election results.”

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill says he will not delay certification of the results.

“It is not going to delay certification and Doug Jones will be certified (Thursday) at 1 p.m. and he will be sworn in by Vice President Pence on the third of January,” Merrill told the AP.
