The Silence Breakers, women and men who have come forward to confront and accuse those who sexually harassed and sexually assaulted them, have been named TIME magazine’s “Person of the Year.” 

TIME made the announcement live on NBC News’ “TODAY” show Wednesday morning. Actress Alyssa Milano, who helped usher in and support others of the #MeToo Movement appeared live with activist Tarana Burke, who created the #MeToo Movement. NBC’s Savannah Guthrie noted fired former “TODAY” host Matt Lauer is among the accused perpetrators of sexual harassment and assault.
