Doug Jones: I’ve Received ‘Very Gracious’ Calls From Trump, Democratic and GOP Leaders – No Call From Roy Moore

Moore Is Waiting for God

Senator-elect Doug Jones says he’s received calls from President Donald Trump, Democratic and Republican leaders in the Senate, and other Senators, and all the calls were “very gracious, congratulating us on the way we have run this race.”

The one call he should have received but did not was from his Republican opponent, Roy Moore. Jones says this is a time for healing, and so he will wait for Moore to make the decision whether or not to call, and when.

Moore lost to Jones by just under 21,000 votes, or 1.5 percent. Contrary to the Alabama Secretary of State’s claim, there is no function for an automatic recount, regardless of margin. There is no question that Jones won, fair and square, so it’s unconscionable that Moore has not called to congratulate Jones, and it’s unconscionable that nearly 24 hours after the polls closed, Moore has not conceded the race.

In fact, Moore may never concede. He said Tuesday night he is waiting for God.
