Seven of 21 Women US Senators So Far Have Called for Franken to Resign
Six Democratic women U.S. Senators have just called on their Democratic colleague, Senator Al Franken of Minnesota, to resign in the wake of the latest allegation of inappropriate behavior. Sen. Franken offered several apologies after the first allegation, and denies today’s.
Just before noon several women Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill held a press conference calling for Franken’s resignation.
The Democratic Senators include Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), Kamala Harris (CA), Maggie Hassan (NH), Claire McCaskill (MO), Mazie Hirono (HI), Patty Murray (WA), Tammy Baldwin (WI).
There are 21 U.S. Senators who are women, 16 of them are Democrats.
It’s likely there will be more calls on Franken to resign.Â
