Roy Moore Campaign Officials Attack Fox News Camera Crew (Video)

No Apparent Reason

Two members of Roy Moore’s campaign attacked a Fox News crew at a rally for the embattled Alabama Republican candidate. Tony Goolsby, who organized Monday night’s event and who authorized the Fox News crew to be on site appeared to push, shove and try to grab the cameras from two Fox News crew members. Goolsby is the Moore campaign’s DeKalb County coordinator.

AL.com reporter Connor Sheets posted this video:

Fox News reported the story later Monday night:

Citing then-GOP congressional candidate, now Congressman Greg Gianforte, and Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie, Shareblue notes “Goolsby is not an aberration. Ever since Donald Trump glorified violence against the press, Republicans around the country have been emboldened to intimidate and even assault journalists.”

Fox News’ Jonathan Serrie adds that the Moore rally took place on public property.

It was Moore’s first public appearance in eleven days. He has not been out campaigning since allegations by nine women of sexual assault and child molestation were made earlier this month.

Apparently this is not the first time a Roy Moore campaign official has gotten physical with the press. Fox News Capitol Hill producer Jason Donner Monday night tweeted that “Moore campaign chair Bill Moore campaign chair Bill Armistead put his hands on a Fox camera put his hands on a Fox camera” last month. Armistead Monday night claimed the “campaign certainly doesn’t condone any pushing or shoving of anyone.”
