UPDATING: Multiple People Reported Dead or Injured in Texas Church Mass Shooting

Multiple people have reportedly been killed or injured, including children, after a gunman opened fire at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas early Sunday.

KSAT 12, ABC’s San Antonio affiliate, reports:

A witness reported seeing a man walk into First Baptist Church and began shooting around 11:30 a.m. Police said there are “multiple victims” at the church, but have not said how many.

The FBI and Texas Rangers have secured the area around the church and are investigating. The church is located in the 500 block of 4th Street in the small, south Texas town about 40 miles east of San Antonio. 

The outlet further reported that witnesses advised a 2-year-old was also shot, and offered on-scene photos via Twitter:

The city’s CBS affiliate, KENS 5, further reported “that the man who allegedly walked into a Sutherland Springs church Sunday morning and shot several people has been taken down by police.”

CBS continued that “Dana Fletcher, a business owner in the area, told CBS News she saw a ‘ton’ of sheriff’s vehicles and ambulances racing down the road. She said she doesn’t know what happened but said there was heavy police presence and people were being airlifted from the scene.”

Donald Trump has tweeted that he is monitoring the situation from Japan. “May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas,” the president wrote. “The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan.”

UPDATE II: 3:51 PM EDT –
Local ABC affiliate KSAT 12 has reported that at least 20 are dead, with at least 30 injured.

The city’s mayor, Ron Nirenberg, has also weighed in regarding thoughts and prayers:
