Kellyanne Conway: Trump Silent on Roy Moore Because He’s ‘Very Busy Explaining to the Country’ What Happened in Asia
Trump ‘Will Make a Statement When He Wants to Make a Statement’
Kellyanne Conway Thursday morning ran defense for President Donald Trump, who has been stunningly silent on Roy Moore and all the allegations of sexual assault and pursuit of teenaged girls. She notes Trump did put out a statement, which was grossly insufficient and early into the scandal.
Why has Trump, who spent a good portion of his first 24 hours home from a 12 day trip to Asia posting insane tweets, been mum on Moore?
“He’s been very busy here working on explaining to the country exactly what happened on his Asia trip,” Conway told “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning. (Relevant portion begins about halfway in, at the 4:35 mark.)

“He certainly is in touch with the different parties involved here,” she added, which presumably would include Moore.
Later in the interview, after Conway’s typical obfuscation, she was pressed and responded: “The president will make a statement when he wants to make a statement.”
Conway went on to falsely accuse “the mainstream media” of not talking about the tax plan. MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, who makes a point, with her co-host Ali Velshi, of explaining complicated financial news to viewers, accused Conway of lying:
This is untrue @KellyannePolls – EVERY SINGLE DAY i cover tax reform on @MSNBC & EVERY DAY @WhiteHouse turns down my requests for interviews with ANYONE working on it. THIS IS A LIE https://t.co/5z7wg20jf1

Trump for years has been accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment by at least 16 women. There was also the “Access Hollywood” tape in which he bragged about sexually assaulting women.Â
Conway made clear Trump “will make a statement when he wants to make a statement” on Roy Moore. He clearly does not want to make a statement.
