Internet Scorches Trump Jr for Using Halloween Photo of His Young Daughter in Inane Attack on Socialism
‘Never Too Soon to Teach a Trump About Grifting’
Donald Trump Jr. Tuesday evening posted a photo of his young daughter to Twitter and Instagram, saying: “I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism.”

Many public figures take a more protective stance of their children, especially when their children are very young, and work hard to ensure they do not use them as political pawns.Â
Many people also know the difference between “to” and “too,” and recognized just how embarrassingly illogical and ignorant Trump Jr’s tweet was.
On Twitter, they were only too happy to school the eldest Trump scion on socialism, just as they were only too happy to school him earlier in the day when he made a rather embarrassingly inaccurate statement about math:
I would imagine that 50% are below average… that’s how math works. The real question is what is average now vs before common core. https://t.co/OnwYhzS7iU

Here’s what folks had to say about the president’s son using his daughter, his attack on socialism, and just how pathetic his point was:
Or, you took her out begging for property that isn’t hers, she didn’t earn. Never too soon to teach a Trump about grifting

“honey, see this free candy you just got? don’t share it with anyone. that’s how the Trumps operate. we are selfish.”

When I was 5, I ran a high fever on Halloween & stayed home. A neighbor gave me half her candy, teaching me the value of compassion & generosity. https://t.co/J8bwYOnjFK

I’m going to take half of Jose’s candy tonight and give it to someone who already inherited a shitload of candy from his dad. https://t.co/DTsvVRTYHq

Will you teach her the difference between “to†and “too?†https://t.co/9XKbGQcSGn

Why not give all of it to Russia, and teach her about her dad and her grandpa. https://t.co/2bwiA5Ys02

giving away candy to some kid stuck at home would be a really kind thing to do. https://t.co/yYJxfjrkOc

Show her the Access Hollywood recording. It’s never too early to show her what an asshole her grandfather is. #impeachtrump #trumprussia

It’s not too late to stop your hateful rhetoric and teach your kids the value of diversity and helping others in need. #charity #kindness

Wow. Using your child for pathetic political points. The candy she got for free from other people you mean? You personify the word imbecile.
— Tom Payne (@justanactor) November 1, 2017
call it compassion, charity. Not every kid was able to have a costume or someone to walk with. Some had to stay home. Teach her that.

I’m going to use my child’s photo on the internet to try and score political points. It’s never too early to teach her about exploitation.

GOP Trick or Treat- Giving 98% of the candy to first 2% of kids who come to my door so I can teach the other 98% about GOP trickle down econ

Are you high? Trick-or-treating is literally begging for candy someone else bought. So your grand economic lesson is about…panhandling?
