Former Obama Photographer Trolls Trump’s Time Magazine Obsession
“Someone Has a Lot of Catching Up to Doâ€
President Barack Obama’s former White House photographer Pete Souza poked fun at Donald Trump’s obsession with Time Magazine on Saturday.
“Someone has a lot of catching up to do,†Souza posted on Instagram, a re-post from an account named “michelleandbarack.†The post included fifteen covers featuring President Obama, as well as former First Lady Michelle Obama.

The post followed Donald Trump’s claim that “Time Magazine called to say I was PROBABLY going to be named ‘Man (Person) of the Year,’ like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot.â€
“I said probably is no good and took a pass,†he continued. “Thanks anyway!â€
The magazine itself quickly debunked this, noting that Trump was “incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year.â€
The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.

Naturally, all of Twitter loved it—and couldn’t resist trolling Trump’s lie, with many pointing out that the president’s had a long history of advocating for Time covers. (And even pointing out, again, that Trump featured a fake cover of the magazine in his golf courses.)
It seems that Pete Souza couldn’t help but join in on the fun, including a slew of hashtags in his post that included “#Forever44.â€
