BREAKING: NBC Reports Mueller Has Enough Evidence to Bring Charges Against Michael Flynn and His Son

Trump Will Meet Putin Next Week

NBC News reported early Sunday that Robert Mueller has garnered enough evidence to bring charges against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and his son in the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election et al.

“Federal investigators have gathered enough evidence to bring charges in their investigation of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser and his son as part of the probe into Russia’s intervention in the 2016 election, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation,” NBC reported.

As NCRM has reported, Flynn is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who was a top advisor to Trump during the campaign. He’s been linked to Russia, gave a speech in Moscow and was even seen sitting at Russian President Vladimir Putin’s table.

Donald Trump also fired Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, weeks after she told the President or his advisors Flynn was susceptible to Russian blackmail. This year, Flynn also retroactively registered as a foreign agent and declared approximately $530,000 in related income.

As NBC also reported:

The investigators are speaking to multiple witnesses in coming days to gain more information surrounding Flynn’s lobbying work, including whether he laundered money or lied to federal agents about his overseas contacts, according to three sources familiar with the investigation.

Mueller’s team is also examining whether Flynn attempted to orchestrate the removal of a chief rival of Turkish President Recep Erdogan from the U.S. to Turkey in exchange for millions of dollars, two officials said.

A spokesperson for the special counsel had no comment.

Flynn’s son, Michael G. Flynn, who worked closely with his father, accompanied him during the campaign and briefly worked on the presidential transition, could be indicted separately or at the same time as his father, according to three sources familiar with the investigation.

If the elder Flynn is willing to cooperate with investigators in order to help his son, two of the sources said, it could also change his own fate, potentially limiting any legal consequences.

This week, it was revealed that former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos secretly pled guilty to making false statements to the FBI, with statements involving Russian relations.

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort was also indicted in Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, with charges that included “conspiracy against the United States.”

Late Saturday evening, and early Sunday in Tokyo, Donald Trump confirmed to reporters aboard Air Force One that he will meet with President Putin during his 12-day Asian tour.
