Alabama Governor: I’m Proud to Vote for Roy Moore and I Have No Reason to Disbelieve Allegations of Sexual Assault

Republican Kay Ivey Says It’s Important to Have a Republican Representing Alabama in the Senate

Alabama’s first elected woman Republican governor says she has no reason to disbelieve the nine women who have accused Roy Moore of child rape, child sexual assault, sexual assault of teenaged girls, and aggressively pursuing teenaged girls when he was in his 30’s as a deputy district attorney. Governor Kay Ivey also says she will be proud to vote for Roy Moore to fill Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat.

“I have no reason to disbelieve any of them,” Ivey said Friday afternoon when asked if she believes the women accusing Roy Moore.

“We need to have a Republican in the United States Senate” to vote for Republican Supreme Court justices, she also said in speaking at a press conference Friday.

“I’m going to cast my ballot on December the 12th, and I do believe the nominee of the party is the one I’ll vote for,” Ivey said, as AL.com reports. “I believe in the Republican Party, what we stand for, and most important, we need to have a Republican in the United States Senate to vote on things like the Supreme Court justices, other appointments the Senate has to confirm and make major decisions. So that’s what I plan to do, vote for Republican nominee Roy Moore.”
