‘Trump’ Visits ‘Manafort’ for a Secret Meeting Following Indictment on ‘SNL’ (Video)

“I Thought We Should All Get Used to Wearin’ Stripes”

Aidy Bryant’s Sarah Huckabee Sanders rocked out on “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) last night, but the sketch comedy show opened with Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump.

The series immediately tackled Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s indictment in Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, with charges that included “conspiracy against the United States,” by showcasing an impromptu meeting between “the president” and Alex Moffat’s Manafort.

The sketch opened with a surprised “Manafort” finding Baldwin’s Trump at his D.C. apartment, in which he remained under house arrest. “I thought you were on your way to Asia,” he asked.

“Everybody does,” Baldwin responded, “but I sent Melania along with a very convincing lookalike.” Following this, “Melania Trump” advised a stuffed Trump that “for the first time in ten years,” she would tell the president about her day.

Before long, “Trump” decided to move his conversation with “Manafort” to another location—one where he could ensure his former campaign manager wasn’t wearing a wire: the shower. “That’s why we’re gonna do this ‘Gone Girl’ style,” Baldwin quipped.

The actors tackled Harvey Weinstein (“he could’ve gotten away with it, if only he’d been elected president”) before surprise appearances by Beck Bennett’s Mike Pence, who wore a suit because he wasn’t married to the water, and Kate McKinnon’s Jeff Sessions, wearing a “bathing costume [he] got from [his] favorite place… the 1890’s.”

“Plus,” McKinnon continued, “I thought we should all get used to wearin’ stripes.”
