‘Fox & Friends’ Celebrates Firing of Woman Who Flipped Off Trump

“She’s Fired!” Fox News Cheers on Twitter

Last month a photo of Juli Briskman went viral. It showed her riding her bike next to President Trump’s motorcade, and giving him a single finger salute. To many on social media she quickly became a “she-ro,” celebrated under the Twitter hashtag, #her2020.

Briskman, a 50-year-old single mother of two teens, was not universally celebrated, however. Her company, a federal contractor reportedly afraid of losing the government’s business, fired her, she says, for violating their social media policy. Briskman was not working, and was not wearing anything to identify her as an Akima employee.

On Tuesday, “Fox & Friends” celebrated her firing.

In a short “news” segment, the Fox News morning show ran the viral photo of Briskman, her actual middle finger blurred out. They told viewers she says the move cost her her job, and then they added this: clips of Donald Trump on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” repeatedly saying, “you’re fired.”

On Twitter, just to make sure there was no doubt Fox News is celebrating her losing her job, “Fox & Friends” posted the segment, tweeting, “She’s fired!”

Briskman now uses the image as her Twitter and Facebook headers (above.)

Why did she do it?

“He was passing by and my blood just started to boil,” she told HuffPost. “I’m thinking DACA recipients are getting kicked out. He pulled ads for open enrollment in Obamacare. Only one-third of Puerto Rico has power. I’m thinking, he’s at the damn golf course again.”

Briskman, a Democrat, said she plans to look for a new job with an advocacy group that she believes in, like Planned Parenthood or PETA.

Despite getting fired, she said she has no regrets about the attention her public show of displeasure with Trump received. In fact, she said she’s happy to be an image of protest that resonates with many Americans.

“In some ways, I’m doing better than ever,” she said. “I’m angry about where our country is right now. I am appalled. This was an opportunity for me to say something.”

“Fox & Friends” neglected to report any of that.
