WATCH: White House, Offering Zero Evidence, Accuses Hillary Clinton of Colluding With Russia
‘If There Was Any Collusion With Russia, It Was Between the DNC and the Clintons’ Press Secretary Claims
The White House is accusing President Donald Trump’s former Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, of colluding with the Russian government in an attempt to win the 2016 presidential election. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, from the White House briefing room podium Friday afternoon told reporters: “We are seeing now that if there was any collusion with Russia, it was between the DNC and the Clintons and certainly not our campaign.â€

It’s important to note Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the White House press secretary and is supposed to represent and speak for the federal government, the president, and the White House – not a presidential campaign. Nor should she be making unfounded accusations against a political opponent who is now a private citizen, especially from the podium.
Huckabee Sanders’ accusation comes just a few hours after President Trump on Twitter Friday morning made an astounding claim. Trump insisted that it is now “commonly agreed” that there was no collusion between him or his campaign and Russia, but there was collusion between Clinton and Russia. That is false.
Neither the president nor his press secretary have offered any evidence for these charges.
Huckabee Sanders, when asked for proof, went on to say, “There’s still no evidence of collusion between the president and anyone. If any collusion took place it would be between the DNC and the Clintons,” extending the unfettered and unfounded accusation apparently to former U.S. President Bill Clinton as well.
She added that all the things the Democrats accused the Trump campaign of doing they are guilty of doing themselves, adding, “I think that’s a really big problem that should certainly be looked at.”
