‘People Don’t Talk About’ Christmas Anymore Trump Falsely Claims
Attendees at the far right wing Christian Values Voter Summit went wild Friday morning as President Donald Trump plied them with religion-based platitudes, culminating in what they really wanted to hear: “We are saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again,” Trump announced.
Shrieks and cheers, standing applause and howling greeted the president’s promise.
“We are getting near the beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore,” Trump said in a staccato voice. “They don’t use the word ‘Christmas.'”
Trump literally has launched this year’s war on the “War on Christmas,” one that does not and has never existed. Americans are as free today as they were last year or decades ago to say “Merry Christmas,” or “Happy Holidays,” or nothing at all.
But watch as these attendees react to Trump’s hollow and meaningless words:
Earlier, Trump told attendees, “we are stopping cold there attacks on Judeo-Christian heritage.”
