Watch: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Says Trump Is ‘Keeping the World From Chaos’

‘I Think That the President Is the One That’s Keeping the World From Chaos’

In response to a question from a reporter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the White House press corps Friday afternoon that President Donald Trump is “keeping the world from chaos.”

Senator Bob Corker, an influential Republican from Tennessee, had credited the president’s top advisors, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly with helping to “separate our country from chaos.”

The White House press secretary refused to support that claim, and tried to one-up Corker’s remarks.

“Look, I think that the president is the one that’s keeping the world from chaos,” Huckabee Sanders said. “He has an incredible team around him that’s helping him lead that effort, and he’s had tremendous accomplishments on the international stage by working with allies and confronting enemies.”

“We’re gonna continue doing that,” she continued. “We’re gonna continue doing that as a team with the president leading that effort.”

One needs to look no further than Thursday night, when the president delivered an ominous and wholly reckless threat.

After a dinner meeting with his generals and their spouses, Trump had reporters come in for a quick comment, telling them, “maybe it’s the calm before the storm.” When pressed as to what he meant, especially given the problems with North Korea and rumors he will decertify the Iran nuclear agreement, the president would only say, “You’ll find out.”

Any world leader, especially those who are not our allies, could see that as an immediate threat.

And that is sowing worldwide chaos.

Of course, given that Trump today stole contraception coverage from likely millions of women, and stole civil rights protections from LGBT people by prioritizing religious rights, some might call that the storm too.
